The Dean of the College of Law at the University of Nahrain, Professor Dr. Firas Abdul Razzaq Hamza, hosted several tree-planting campaigns on campus during 2024. Under the supervision of the Diwan Affairs DivisionAgricultural Unit, the College of Law organized several tree-planting campaigns on campus during 2024. Volunteers volunteered to plant more than 200 trees, including new green spaces and seasonal seedlings, with active participation from the college and faculty members.
This initiative falls within the framework of the University of Nahrain and the Deanship of the College of Law’s efforts to achieve development goals and the national afforestation campaign in Iraq, launched by the Prime Minister on October 14, 2024. It highlights such contributions to enhancing green structures on campus, creating a healthier and more beautiful environment, and continuing efforts to build local communities.
Professor Dr. Firas Abdul Razzaq Hamza emphasized that these contributions represent a significant contribution to the environment and that afforestation is not only a step to enhance the new environment, but it is also an effective contribution in confronting, starting from a distance, to combat pollution control. Through these campaigns, we seek to encourage university and local students to undertake many afforestation projects and the importance of improving the environment and desertification. The college hopes that this initiative will combat everything that contributes to achieving long-term, as the association is considered effective in reducing the percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere and absorbing harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, which is one of the most prominent causes of air pollution. It has also been collected in moderating the climate and reducing heat, which has led to the production of healthy genetic models.
