The Public Law Department at the College of Law, University of Nahrain, -in cooperation with the Al-Mustansiriya Center for Arab and International Studies-, held a scientific symposium entitled ((Strategies for Rejecting Extremist Ideology Leading to Terrorism in Iraq after 2014)) . The lecturer, Dr. Zaman Majid Awda, lectured at the Legal Studies Department at the Al-Mustansiriya Center. She highlighted the security challenge that Iraq faced after 2003, which resulted in the spread of extremist thought, as Iraq became a fertile ground for the spread of extremist terrorist groups and the heinous terrorist crimes they committed against humanity, including Al-Qaeda in 2006 and the terrorist organization ISIS in 2014, which requires the development of several strategies to reject extremist thought in several legal, media, economic, security, cultural, educational, and administrative fields. in addition to cooperation with international organizations and the establishment of regional and international alliances to emphasize the need to reject extremist thought that leads to terrorism and spread the culture of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and the language of dialogue and moderation, which is primarily a duty of educated segments of society, especially academics and university students.
